laurence haener is an artist, farmer, and outdoor educator living on the Palouse.
Laurie has done ecological restoration and farm work for the Idaho Conservation Corps, Palouse Conservation District, and most recently Rose Creek Seed. This 2026 season, he is apprenticing under Greg Freistadt and Marci Miller at Deep Roots Farm to learn how to run a small diversified veggie and herb operation of his own someday.
Laurie is also a founding member of Roots & Wings, a non-profit cooperative providing outdoor education for young children on the Palouse. Along with teaching part time, he is the admin, outreach, and web design lead.
